Thanks for taking up this cause. As the parent of a Type-1 teenager, I’ve only found out about this issue in the last couple of years. Even with insurance, the cost to manage diabetes is shocking.
The high cost of insulin is a market failure. The consequence is that some Americans with diabetes are going without insulin or rationing. When the system encourages higher list prices, it’s appropriate for the government to take action.

My daughter (21) was also recently diagnosed as Type-1. Costs are alarming and I'm afraid she will soon be in the same boat, having to ration medication. She plans to be a teacher and we all know how underpaid they are.

Rep. Peters isn’t it the US Government DUTY to protect the lives of the US citizens? How many T1D US citizens must die, not from enemy hand but from corporate greed pricing insulin out of their reach, so our government to step in and set the price?

What's sad, for those of us here in San Diego, we can walk across the border into Mexico and get the exact same insulin at a fraction of the cost. Thank you for doing what is right.
