Where do I start with you? You want a pat on the back for a job well done? First off, this won’t be signed into law. Second, reinsurance programs don’t lower premiums. It’s just a shell game. Historically, the money came from taxes on premiums.

Even if this were to pass, which it won’t, it does nothing to address healthcare trends. You need to go to the source. Hospitals and physicians should beed to publish the rates they actually charge to their customers and justify them.

Also, we as a country need to get serious about our health, not just our healthcare. Diabetes, heart disease, obesity, etc are largely preventable and are the biggest drivers in costs. We’re an overly fat and inactive nation.

You might be too far removed from reality to understand us regular folks, but I’d be glad to discuss it with you.
