One year ago, Trump impulsively tweeted he was going to ban transgender individuals from serving in the U.S. military. Any brave, qualified American who wishes to serve should be allowed to do so. #ProtectTransTroops

I immediately filed an amendment to the defense spending bill to prohibit the government from using funds, allocated for defense, to implement or enforce the directive. Today, we still need to stand up to these backward policies.
