The Montgomery GI Bill ensured Vietnam veterans could pursue an education. The Post-9/11 GI Bill expanded benefits for veterans on active duty on, or after, September 11 and allowed them to transfer unused educational benefits to their spouse or kids.

Last year, I was honored to help pass the Forever G.I. Bill, which modernized veterans education benefits for the new economy. It also included my bill to make all Purple Heart veterans eligible for full education benefits, regardless of their length of active-duty service.pic.twitter.com/KWNzY59hjn
