2/ The 'good guy w/a gun' idea is noble but 1)Ppl need to want to have a gun. VERY FEW ppl do own one. 2) To b proficient w/a weapon & have the will to engage a mass shooter then you're looking 4 an unicorn among the populace who would intervene BEFORE or DURING the killing.

8/Unless they can provide proof of military or law enforcement training in weapons, civilians need to take a proficient realistic course on weapon firing and handling. No drum mags, 25-30 rounds capacity ONLY. No add-ons 4 auto fire. NO BUMP STOCKS.

9/Unpopular ideas: Create a mental health screening to acquire a gun. Register them w/local Sheriff Dept. The 2A is sown into the fabric that made this country & now, as it's been 4 decades now, it's being abused by some who make their $ out of it.

10/More guns r not the solution, sir. U know that. But if u don't, have ur staff look up facts and data. Ask experts (not NRA lackies) and see. The ppl, most in the country, WANT some kind of better gun control. Ur proposals don't help much. Sincerely, 1 Purple Heart Recipient

I'm all for this as long as there are background checks, minimum training in every state. Our state does.

I agree with common sense laws. Citizens should not be allowed to own automatic weapons that kill 50 people within minutes. These types of weapons should be in the hands of the military and police. Owning hand guns and shot guns is sufficient for common people. No mass killing

2/In ur statement u write that "everything must be done to stop this gun violence" so, by your logic, more guns r needed out there in the hands of qualified ppl but, a just because a person has a gun it doesn't mean that such person WILL stop a madman.

1/Your tweet is misleading & its overall content does not address the epidemic that gun violence is in our country. The 2A rules over the land Concealed carry permits do vary from state to state a bit. That is not part of the 2A.

Concealed carry permits require vastly different qualifications to be met from state to state. Florida required hours of classes and range time while Alabama and Georgia do not. Why would we lower our standards and let them carry here? Where are the states' rights in this bill?

You let people from other states drive a car there. States have different rules on that too. Different vision requirements, age restrictions, road tests, written tests, criminal records, DUI laws..All different.
