Today, @NOAA announced there will be a four day Recreational Red Snapper season in the South Atlantic on July 10th, 11th, 12th, and 17th. This four day season will benefit our fishing industry which has been hit especially hard during the coronavirus pandemic.
However, we must keep fighting for longer seasons. I will continue my work in Washington to make sure NOAA is incorporating independent data and using the best science available to have the most accurate stock assessments, which will ultimately lead to longer seasons.
I don't think they are incorporating independent data. They should ask the fishing professionals to contribute jointly in collecting the data. 4 days is nothing.
