Congress must address the challenges presented by man-made climate change. Flood insurance, yes. But mitigation and adaptation are essential. Every year we delay, the solution set grows smaller, and the costs larger. We are woefully behind, and now only heroic measures remain.
I'm glad that the House passed a short-term extension of the Flood Insurance Program given its importance in NE Florida. Now we must come together to responsibly reauthorize the program for the long run to protect communities and taxpayers going forward.
