How many of those jobs pay a living wage? I’ve asked this of the administration of the department of labor and also my representatives. One job pays for a modest two bedroom apartment, food, all utilities, transportation and childcare?

These employers you speak of are just creating more low paying jobs. People (like me) will have to take on 2 or 3 of those jobs just to BARELY make ends meet. Your rationale is disgusting, insulting and shows us EXACTLY who you are and what you stand for, and it isn't us.

The minimum wage increase makes absolute sense. However, along with this we need to have affordable housing, lower gas prices, lower grocery costs and lower medical care costs (insurance, co pay and the cost of care).

No person putting in an honest week’s work s/b w/o housing, scraping by for food, no healthcare coverage & no quality of life. Stop looking out the lens of an educated privileged man. Provide dignified affordable housing & expand Medicaid. Stand up for the least among us!
