It's not confusing: the Republican President is corrupt. The Republican President surrounded himself with equally corrupt sycophants. Imagine what Virginia could be with more fair funding of elections and less gerrymandering.

It's not confusing at all. Virginia's gains have come from Democrats in control of state-wide positions. Meanwhile, the Republicans continue to run hard-right candidates across the board. Add in a corrupt administration that Republicans are supporting and it's pretty simple.
