    That would make too much sense so it makes total sense that congress would omit it.

    Now that the resolution protects just about every group on the planet, can we add “babies on the day of their birth” as a protected class?

    My friend Bob has rode a motorcycle in 49 states, missing only Hawaii. A few years ago we rode Anchorage to Key West together. Today we are riding in Hawaii to get the 50th done.

    If legislators always vote with the President, we have a king. If legislators always vote with the prevailing wind, we have mob rule. If legislators always vote with the Constitution, we have a Republic.

    It’s possible to support POTUS and desire better border security. It’s also possible, that while doing that you realize that over riding your support of those things, that your first oath, was to the constitution.

    Good stuff . The ends should never be used to justify the means. Your vote proved today that the constitutional separation of power matters. You upheld the rule of law.

    Fascinating. Paying inexperienced workers more than market and capping top level workers way below. Here is what she will get. A brain drain as the best workers move to better paying offices and too many inexperienced ones applying = inefficient office.

    The same congressional Republicans who joined me in blasting Pres. Obama’s executive overreach now cry out for a king to usurp legislative powers. If your faithfulness to the Constitution depends on which party controls the White House, then you are not faithful to it.

    In all the discussion about a wall and emergency declarations, what gets left out is the discussion about pragmatic immigration reform. POTUS was totally correct in the SOTU speech to highlight the nation's need for legal immigration. Demographics demand it. Glad he sees it.

    Just another example of Congress ceding power to the President. This way they can avoid dealing with the tough issues once again. This is a bad idea. A better one would be to connect the budget to the debt limit. The problem is spending.

    Great convo about the Emergency Declaration. With all that said, I agree that border security is essential. It’s the necessary first step to fixing a broken immigration system.

    Furthermore the Courts can’t determine what an emergency is. They can only rule on the constitutional authorities as outlined therein.
