In the richest country in the world, it's an outrage that millions of Americans face utility insecurity, dangerous services, & inhumane shutoffs. We need water to drink & bathe, electricity and connect with the world. I support legislation to recognize utilities as a human right.

You wish EVERYTHING was a human right so you wouldn’t have to pay for anything! America doesn’t work that way, Rashida.

the millions are growing!
everyone needs some help to keep themselves safe
$2000/month may be hard to swing, but $50/month to everyone would cover some basic costs - and help everyone feel like they belong
Fastest way to get everyone a seat at the proverbial Democracy Table.

How would that work exactly? Just force utility companies to give away their service? How would they operate? Or do you plan to subsidize them through the government meaning those of us that can pay our utilities will also pay for others' through taxes?

Not sure how that legislation (recognize utilities as a basic right) will actually help. Nice thought but how will it help Americans.

We'd be the richest if we weren't neck deep in national debt and keep spending on aid for other countries instead of establishing UBI of $2,000/month plus $300 food stipend to help our own.
We have homelessness, hungry children, crap education and Healthcare.
