I’m glad that the president has finally decided to end his disastrous shutdown, but hundreds of thousands of Americans, including many here in the Inland Empire, suffered needlessly for 35 days because of his refusal to compromise on his demands for a border wall.
Moving forward, it is my hope that my colleagues on both sides of the aisle will work together to reach an agreement to enhance border security through evidence-based solutions. I look forward to being a part of those efforts.
What the heck is evidence based security. No matter what a wall is needed in certain areas. No more playing games. Secure the border once and for all.

Would you consider the cries for more and better border fencing from US Border Patrol “evidence”? They seem like good subject matter experts. Perhaps they even know a tad more than politicians?
