The percentage of violent crime can go down since the demoninator in that fraction is total population which is going up. How about the prision population? What percentage of inmates are illegals since 1980? Graph that and lets see where it lands.

The drop in violent crime coincides with the elimination of lead I gasoline. The detremental brain effects of lead are well understood, including violent behavior.
