Sounds great but do we really need to spend $50 million to find out that Americans being gunned down at school, work, worship, nightclubs, banks, bodegas, local bar, concerts, hair salons and communities is a massive problem and find out what other countries are doing?
For too long, the CDC was banned from researching gun violence. That changed this week. For the first time in over 20 years, the House Appropriations FY 2020 bill includes $50 million to study gun violence.

So we can announce that the House intends to appropriate $50 million dollars of tax payer money to research "gun violence"... All the while they don't tell you how they intend to approach the issue?

They won't be the ones approaching the issue so they can't tell you that. The money will go to scientists who propose the best research - as determined by qualified scientists who review the proposals and score them. This is a very good thing.

How does this make any sense? CENTER FOR DISEASE CONTROL researching gun violence...I do not understand the correlation between gun control and disease study...
