Having these talks with a timeline of a full American withdrawal can cause the entire government & Afghan Army to become unraveled along ethnic lines into civil war.
While the situation in #Afghanistan is frustrating & challenging, a bad deal can actually make things much worse.
If a civil war erupts, we could have an #ISIS and Al-Qaeda 2.0 emerge from the vacuum — and then we will have to commit more troops than we currently have in the area to deal with the situation.
The devil is not just in the details. The devil is on both sides of the table. The US foreign policy has been corrupted.

Trump will ok any deal so he can brag about a deal.
I hope this doesn’t turn out like the great North Korea talks. Question: what happens when the Taliban figures out that all they had to do was infiltrate the government by winning elections and take over through perceived democracy.
