Sounds good but not enough. Banning assault-style weapons, including a buy-back option, is the only way to stop the carnage. It does not interfere in 2nd Amendment rights. Better yet, tie National Service to gun ownership so that all gun owners are licensed and trained.

“Buy-back” implies the buyer owned it to begin with. It also requires consent of both buyer and seller. And no, addressing the “how” stops nothing as the “how” is fluid. Address the why and who. PS, we had a ban, it made no difference.
