The 1979 Easter flood was a devastating and costly flood for our state. Another flood of this magnitude would cost our state over $1 billion.

I remember that flood. The Pearl River came all the way to Foxhall Road in Pearl. It also flooded the Mississippi State Fair Grounds in Jackson. It was tough.
