1) CHIP extension could’ve been voted on at any time prior to tonight, on its own, but GOP refused to bring it to a vote. 2) Package is for 6 years, while 10 years saves $1.5b 3) Short-term funding is a bad way to govern 4) You can still vote & pass CHIP separately.
