A month ago, we received word that the Ohio Valley Medical Center would be closing, and now we are faced with the reality that in less than 24 hours, all acute and emergency admissions at OVMC will be suspended.
Yesterday’s announcement will have a major impact on patients, especially those utilizing OVMC’s inpatient mental health services and emergency services. We are hopeful that potential buyers will move with a sense of urgency in order to prevent any further disruptions to care.
We have had dozens of calls and meeting since the initial announcement. That’s sad. And frightening. Yet the public has a growing sensibility that both government and medical care have been a scam for quite some time. Repent and fix it.
