After high school, I had no clue what I wanted to do with my life. Because of Black men like Collin Powell, who broke barriers, big supporter of democracy who handled himself impeccably with Grace. I tried to get into the US military & serve. I am very sad of his passing. R.I.P.

As a young white kid, living in a mostly white area, going to an almost all white school, Gen Powell was one of the first black faces I can remember in a position of power. His refusal to cave to Trump and his role in opening me to others will never be forgotten.
