I used to think that
@RepMattGaetz was simply a fool, a buffoon, an embarrassment to the state of Florida. But now I’m sure that he’s unpatriotic, unAmerican, a stain on the office he holds. He lies, he protects criminals, he abuses his oath of office. -
I completely agree with your reassessment.

GOP Final Benghazi Report: P. 360 'The Committee’s pref. for private interviews over public hearings has been questioned. ... Interviews allow witnesses to be questioned .. by a highly prepared member or staff person. " Open hearings "precludes in-depth focused questioning.'

Every patriotic American supports the Constitution and investigating possible misconduct by a President as the Constitution requires. As for the "system", it's been this way for 200+ years. Investigations have always been done in secret. The trial is what's held in public.
-
And the hearings are being held in the "basement" because that's where the SCIF is. Hearings discussing classified information are required both by law and House rules to be held in the SCIF. No one is stupid enough to believe it being in the basement means anything sinister.

Shouldn't
@RepMattGaetz be at an AA meeting? -
AA requires "rigorous honesty." Nope!
