should be something akin to a HUD for mortgages.Including an “appraisal” of the degree or qualifications value. Perhaps average earnings of careers its meant for etc so lenders couldn’t lend beyond value - like a mortgage.

The interest rate on student loans is too high. That is why so much of it is not being paid off. Someone needs to mandate lower rates as they publicized when the programs started.
