Today’s Appropriations Bill was a sham. Not only was it inadequate in its disaster funding, it was wasteful in other areas. Congress should address disaster aid on its own, not coupled with funding for Obamacare, limitations on border security, or benefits for Planned Parenthood.

Optics is the issue. If you have black people suffering in a football stadium with a worthless chief of police that video would have prompted Congress into action. Katrina had all of these optics. Find suffering people of color and get the news onto them.
