I think there are two areas where Comey is right. First: this should not be occurring behind closed doors. We should be susceptible of Republicans and Democrats when they say the best way to conduct oversight is to do it outside the view of the American people...
Second: this is not a sincere attempt to hold Hillary Clinton or Jim Comey accountable for Hillary’s email scandals. If we were really serious about doing that, we would've been on the sticks starting at the beginning of the 115th Congress.

It’s only important to have ANY hearings if something comes of them. Having a hearing in public when there are no consequences is just a waste of time and money.
Isn't the argument that Comey can legitimately refuse to answer questions in open session citing National Security whereas in private session he had to do what he did to avoid answering the questions ie. lie and prevaricate about not knowing or remembering?

The 5 minute grandstanding by Dems and GOP are totally unacceptable to all of us that are interested in getting to the truth. Period. The hope is closed door questioning is not as pure theater...if it’s not, then no point to question him... leave it to a grand jury.
