I have ideas for the mentally ill, but will work better with homeless veterans. There are mall and property foreclosures everywhere. Govt should buy and gift to qualified veteran organizations. From there they can rehab, have there soon to be residents help do that -1

like a knock off of habitat for humanity. For those with mental health issues, remodel large spaces into living units with counselors on site. Help them heal emotionally while getting job training, financial counseling so they can be successfully independent. -2

Oh, no worries, Mr.Gaetz, the private sector will take care of that. In fact, we have a brand new Food for Vets food pantry that just opened in our military town, but you know that already. Now we just need a homeless shelter.
