My heart is heavy after hearing the news of another shooting, this time in Dayton, Ohio - 13 hours following the El Paso shooting that robbed 20 innocent people of their lives. Sending prayers to the victims, their families, law enforcement and the entire Dayton community.
We must also pray for the safety of our country. It is beyond time for our leaders to do what is necessary to enact laws that keep guns out of the hands of people wishing to do harm. This has to stop. #EnoughIsEnough #EndGunViolence
Prayers are NOT enough nor are they the answer
All these unanswered prayers are either shallow or shake the foundations of faith.
Do something. Thoughts and prayers don’t bring back the dead. We need common sense gun laws.
@rockettherapist The House has already passed bipartisan background checks bills (H.R 8 and H.R. 1112). Sadly, Senate inaction has delayed progress.
We must look at root causes of human behavior. Violent video games and movies combined with addictive behavior on tech creates an environment where humans cannot function socially. Shortages of mental health professionals exasperating these issues. This is a human problem.
You have the power to do more than offering prayers. Do something to prevent these daily tragedies!
