I found the strength to forgive my son’s killer, because courage is turning pain into progress. I lost my son, but I am still his mother, and I’m on a mission to protect the lives of children like him. [3/4]

And I will fight every day in Washington to make sure our country is stronger, our children are safer, and our families are kept whole. Because I know the pain of losing a child to gun violence. And no one should ever have to go through that pain.
