Solution: Next Congress, I will again introduce my balanced budget amendment that aims to balance the federal budget within 10 years. We must get our fiscal house in order for future generations.

Didn’t Trump run on the platform that he would eliminate the national deficit? Right before he added 4 trillion to it with tax cuts for the ultra wealthy? 7.5 if you count covid relief but that was only partially his fault so we won’t count that

You were in Congress when Rs held BOTH houses and the Presidency, when the debt ballooned, and you said nothing.
Now that Ds are in charge you suddenly care about the debt?
Nice try. You only care about the debt when someone else is signing the checks.

So, Jan 5th Tour Guide Loudermilk, how’d it make you feel when the “King of Debt” promised to reduce the national debt — then due to his tax cuts, made it surge by $7.8 trillion?

A good start would be to revoke all the huge tax cuts to the top 1% and corporations. Reinstate the 34.5% rate on them and cut about 3/4 of their deductions!
