Doug, you’re such an optimist. Walmart just announced the closure of 63 stores that will likely lay off 11,000 employees. Let’s see, 11,000 x <$24,000/yr> = loss of $264 million in salaries alone. Plus billions in lost tax revenue. This doesn’t look so rosy.

Several...63 is the figure I saw. But hey, at least they closed the stores with no warning, so people had a chance to save up and plan for the famine ahead.
