It's odd that you want to repeal a 12% excise tax that goes to the federal Highway Trust Fund when our highways are so overused & underfunded. How will you replace the $3 billion the tax generates? Oh, BTW, last year the tax generated $4.2 billion due to strong sales.
Today, I introduced bipartisan legislation with Rep. Collin Peterson (MN) to repeal the Federal Excise Tax (FET) on heavy-duty trucks. The #FET is outdated, unnecessary, & prohibitive - and it's time to get rid of it.
