The funding bill passed by Democrats tonight wasn’t a serious attempt to reopen the government, but the beginning of a stunt that takes time away from finding a solution.
It has been clear for weeks that in order for a funding bill to pass the House, the Senate, and be signed by the President it will need to be a compromise. The Senate has said they won’t consider this bill and the President has said he would veto this bill.
I hope that we can get to work finding a solution to reopen those closed portions of the government that includes important disaster funding and border security which is desperately needed. Unfortunately, the bill today lacks both.
Your district is in ashes. People are homeless and starving in the wake of the Camp Fire. We need a functioning federal government focused of climate change.
I called his office and all the would say is there were "clauses" in it he couldn't vote for and it seemed they didnt really care the district is in ashes and people wont be able to eat if this goes on.
The Wall is a stunt? The Republicans passed this same exact Bill two (2) weeks ago. How can passing legislation to put these hard working people back to work so they can pay bills and feed thier family a "stunt".
The whole shutdown is @POTUS 's stunt. He made that clear on Dec 11. Hist stunt. 5b won't build a bridge anymore, let alone a 2000 mile wall. This is about Trump making everyone say that 2+2 is 5.
The Dems pick at things little by little until they get all of their way - and the GOP is left with nothing they want - get with it @GOP

You guys had 2 years in control of the house, the senate and the White House but you waited to try for Wall funding (the one Mexico was gonna pay for) when Dems took control of the house. Trump is a great deal maker
