(1/3) While it appears the Senate won’t pass a funding bill tonight, I’m proud that the House has stayed here to fight for disaster funding and security at our southern border. It’s worth the fight.

(2/3) Remember - most of the government has already been funded through the year, & a government shutdown won’t affect our parks, TSA, or the FEMA employees currently assisting with disasters in Butte & Shasta counties & the hurricane-affected states elsewhere in the country.

(3/3) I’m very disappointed that some of my Democrat colleagues in the Senate have blocked an agreement thus far, but we will continue this fight to ensure the relief from disasters is reliable and our sovereign borders are protected.

They had a bi-partison agreement that everyone agreed on, even Trump but once again he changed the rules mid-way and has left the Government "Closed for Business". Be honest about this, he is not really a great negotiator.

You’re democratic colleagues didn’t block an agreement, our President blocked the agreement and said if he didn’t get a wall he was taking his ball and going home. You’re misrepresenting the facts on purpose and the peeps who applaud you know it. But money wins out always.

Also Democratic House will pass the disaster relief as you know it. So will the Senate that isn’t the problem as you know. A wall will just be a waste of $$. We need comprehensive border security as well as immigration reform that stops largest violators, Visa over stayers
