I anticipate POTUS will grant federal assistance soon. In the meantime, we'll continue to coordinate with local, state, and federal officials to get necessary resources to firefighters & first responders who are fighting to contain this rapidly spreading & very destructive fire.
I believe that is the FEMA Regional Administrator's job, and it's a good thing or we would never get it. @POTUS will likely provide some great advice on managing forests and water in his twitter feed though.
