I’ve said since the horrific shooting in Parkland that doing nothing is not an option, that we must act to secure our schools and provide a safe learning environment for our children. Today, the House of Representatives did something.

We passed the STOP School Violence Act, which provides federal grant funding for evidence-based training to prevent school violence. It gives needed resources to local law enforcement, school staff, and students to help identify and prevent violence against themselves or others.

What happened in Parkland was a massive breakdown in the system where we missed so many clear warning signs. This bill takes important steps to prevent that from happening again.

You are doing nothing. We had a ban on assault style weapons before in 1984-2004. Why not do it again and add mega magazines, bump stocks, age limit to 21,stricter background regulations and close gun show loopholes.

Still not talking about gun control, Kev? You probably think you really need those deep NRA pockets after that election last night.

Why stop at our schools, Congressman? Mass shootings have occurred everywhere. Shouldn’t we act to secure everywhere? Or is that not allowed?

"Something" in reality being not much of anything! Congress is plain and simply not up to American standards, and all you have to do is look out in the streets of America to see that.

Passed 405-10, I’m guessing it does very little. “Evidence-based training.” It’s too bad the Republican Party doesn’t believe in evidence-based anything. They actually prevent government agencies from collecting that evidence. #CDC #GunControl #NRA #emptygestures

You mean like the evidence of when life begins or how many genders there are? No agency is prohibited from collecting evidence.

Nope, this was in fact nothing. You are correct, though. Doing nothing is not an option. It’s not too late. Try again.

Why don't you hang out in a school that is heavily armed? Didn't think so...another NRA owned republican.

Easy: 1) assault weapons~ ban them, 2) background checks and waiting periods, implement them 3) age~ increase it to 21 and 4) I vote~ do your job.

And this would help with Las Vegas or Sutherland Springs type shootings how? Hate to tell you but schools aren’t the only targets.
