Thanks to the economic growth being driven by tax reform, job opportunities are growing in #KS03 and across the nation. Right now, almost 7 million jobs are currently available - the most ever recorded, and more than the total number of unemployed Americans.

Wages have been flat for 40+ years❗️ Today’s real average wage (that is, the wage after accounting for inflation) has about the same purchasing power it did 40 years ago. What wage gains there have been have mostly gone to the highest-paid workers‼️http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2018/08/07/for-most-us-workers-real-wages-have-barely-budged-for-decades/ …

Low paying jobs, I think that is what you mean to say. Real wage improvement is being wiped out by inflation. And, when you add to that what people have to pay for health insurance, education and cost of living, it isn't much to brag about. Raise wages.https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2018/08/10/america-wage-growth-is-getting-wiped-out-entirely-by-inflation/?utm_term=.f8396730a9b1 …

Fact: under President Obama in last 18 months in office 500,000 more jobs were created than in first 18 months of President Trump in office. With the unemployment as low of 4.1%, suggests that employers are having difficulity finding the workers that need. 1/

June 2018 @USDOL report appeared to offer good news, but workers are actually worse off. Real wages declined in the last year (flat for 40 yrs) & recent @UnitedWay report showed ALMOST HALF OF U.S. FAMILIES can’t afford basics—food, housing & childcare❗️https://www.forbes.com/sites/angelahanks/2018/06/26/the-skills-gap-myth-does-not-explain-whats-happening-to-work/amp/ …

The data indicates a skills gap has made it harder for companies to fill open positions. Many jobs, particularly in manufacturing, administrative work, and information technology, require a greater of different skill sets than in the past, and not enough workers have them. 2/

These skills gaps exist in specific occupations and industries. In information technology, 17% more jobs are open than there are available workers. 3/

That's because demand in relatively new fields, such as Cybersecurity and "big data" analysis, have exploded in recent years Training programs have been slow to teach the new, complex skills needed. 4/
