In Edmond, OK, last year, Isaiah Lewis was killed while experiencing a mental health crisis. Police were called to respond. Despite being unarmed, Isaiah was tased then shot. His story is all too common in America. 1 in 4 people killed by police suffer from a mental illness.
Protesters nationwide are again highlighting the immediate need for reforms. There's no single solution that will end injustice in our country. We need a multi-faceted strategy to end systemic racism and violence. I'm fighting for a vote on my bill as a piece of that strategy.

Have the protesters in the U.S. forgotten about the coronavirus issue. The U.S. can expect a spike in hospital admissions in about a weeks time as a consequence of these riots.
Agreed although not intentional injustice. Need welfare reform, compulsory mentoring for welfare recipients, education reform etc. I am Australian looking in from outside. No simple solution but U.S. always had high crime rate compared to elsewhere. Maybe look at elsewhere.
