The announcement that Oklahoma will seek waivers to shift Medicaid into a block grant program threatens health care access for almost 800,000 Oklahomans while also increasing the cost and risk to state funds. This is not the answer to our current Medicaid crisis.

OK failed to expand Medicaid and turned down many millions of federal dollars. Block grants will only make our state responsible for an even greater share of the cost of Medicaid. Block grants also allow state Medicaid programs to refuse to cover some FDA-approved drugs.

Over 500,000 children rely on SoonerCare for health care access. Block grants put them in danger of losing access to the providers in their communities and to the lifesaving medications they need. That is the wrong direction for our state.

Thank you Kendra for advocating for vulnerable populations. Taking care of each other as human beings is human decency. It is the best version of humanity.

Very well said! Hope this will help spread the word throughout Oklahoma as to how we are “biting our nose to spite our face” when it comes to not expanding Medicare.

Are you serious? Who pays for Medicaid! The tax payers, that’s who! That’s SOCIALISM! California has expanded their Medicaid! ONE THIRD of California is on Medicaid! Majority of MEDICAID is paid by the Fed Government! You truly are part of the leftwing cancer killing America!

Due to the Socialist bureaucracy in California many of my friends and family are forced to buy the "Covered California" plan at roughly $500 a month per person, or pay a massive fine. That's where this leads to. More jobs with employer provided insurance is the answer.

When the ACA was implemented Oklahoma was one of the states that wouldn’t expand Medicaid. They didn’t care about their citizens they only wanted Obamacare to fail. Why do Okies continue to vote against their own best interests?

The solution to fixing a broken system is not to feed more into it?Horn isn’t telling those that are already on Medicare that adding to it will hurt them. Many doctors don’t take Medicare patients and now she wants to add to doctors that do, forcing long waits on our poor?Bandaid
