My vote this week on the War Powers Resolution was not a go-ahead for the President to engage in a military conflict. My vote was against a resolution more focused on partisan politics than the best interest of our national security.

There’s a right and wrong way to keep a check on the Administration and make long-term national security decisions. Partisan politics is the wrong way. Using our constitutional authority to set clear & strategic boundaries about how and when Armed Forces are used is the right way

I agree with Kendra on this 1 point. IF Congress wants their Constitutional powers BACK that they gave up in the post 9-11 world then repeal (not update) the AUMF. 1. Declare a war or don't. 2. Fund military action or don't. 3. authorize strikes against terror targets or don't.

when you give Bush and Obama and Trump an open ended AUMF and ONLY cry foul when Trump kills 1 terror leader we ALL see the game that is being played. this is more of an indictment of Congress' failures since 2002 than Trump in 2020.
