After mastectomies, some women have to have lymph nodes removed. That can lead to Lymphedema, a swelling condition. We can treat Lymphedema with prescription compression supplies, but Medicare doesn't cover them. That makes the supplies more expensive. #NWHW
That's why I co-sponsored HR 1948. It makes Medicare cover those supplies. (And companies that base their policies on Medicare do the same.) Anyone who struggles with Lymphedema, including women who have survived breast cancer, deserve access to this critical health care. #NWHW
