When I came to Congress, I knew I had a responsibility to pull back the curtain for the American people and expose corruption in real time. So, I’m filling you in on Senator McConnell’s attempts over the last 8 days to tank a *bipartisan* COVID relief bill. (THREAD)

You may have heard that Democrats and Republicans have agreed upon spending $900 billion to fund another round of small business loans, support hospitals and essential workers, and help the 10 million people who lost their jobs through no fault of their own. (2/5)

Everyone at the negotiating table—including Senate Rs—has agreed to a compromise. Except one. Mitch McConnell is refusing to bring it to the floor unless it wipes away all COVID-related lawsuits filed that “allege injury or death” due to corporate negligence. (3/5)

The same McConnell who said that President Trump is “100% within his rights” to pursue baseless lawsuits alleging election fraud is now refusing to pass urgently-needed relief unless it strips those same rights from the most vulnerable among us. This must be exposed. (5/5)

We often, and conveniently, forget that free-choice is a part of the equation, and that free-choice comes with consequences. In this case, don't report to work if you feel endangered. Cost the job? Maybe. That's the consequence of free-choice. Can't have it both ways.

One of the first things trump did in 2017 was to remove family's rights to sue nursing homes for abuse. And if a grocery store worker ever won a lawsuit against a corporate owned supermarket it would be front page news and we'd make a movie out of it.

I honestly can’t take much more of this. I’ve lost everything! Living out of my car with my dog, can’t afford food, been out of work 3 weeks now with no unemployment! We need HELP! None of these politicians care about us. I’m just so hopeless. This isn’t ok!

Did you know that on 2/4/20, before people had heard of Covid19, drug companies were given immunity from liability for their Covid19 vaccines, leaving no incentive for safety, but massive profit for the drug companies, who CAN’T BE SUED if the shot kills or injures you?

This immunity is unnecessary because that’s what civil courts are for. If I were a jury member, I’m pretty sure I could tell when someone has been grossly negligent, as opposed to employing best practices and still not being able to prevent an infection.

You mean Tyson Foods who placed bets on their employees who were put in dangerous and unhygienic conditions and a failure to protect workers from the outbreak? Keep calling @senatemajldr & others out. Americans deserve representatives like you!
