I’m thinking about not only the banks & other retail businesses, but their customers, who will be faced w/ the prospect of having to round up or down. In a time when pennies are the difference b/w profit & loss, it seems to be a bigger concern than the Fed announcement indicated.
I called on Chairman Powell to issue more robust guidance to banks across the country dealing with this issue and Chairman Powell committed to do so. I will always fight for Tennesseans and their needs in Congress. #TN6
Robust Guidance is what we need from the President. Rather than him saying "not my responsibility" "We're the Federal Gov't, not shipping clerks" while he pits the states against each other and the national government.
Tennesseans need many things. One of which is ending qualified immunity as an affirmative defense for government actors. We would also like you to push for transparency in the form of disclosing what/how much businesses received relief funds from the federal government for COVID.
