SNAP is a critical program that helps people in meaningful ways. However, numerous shortcomings in the program should be addressed to promote healthy choices and encourage self-sufficiency. Go Carol! Did you know that if women were paid the same as men, not only would the economy add $513 billion in wages and salary, the poverty rate for working women would fall by half? #wagegapday

With the United States of America facing an impending constitutional crisis, this is what you want to do? Push you state agenda again? Realize this: you have no political future in NY or anywhere else. The world is changing and you're on the wrong side of history. Word.pic.twitter.com/DthHCIg0T8

Mr Faso you have no interest in helping those in need. Restrictions, conditions, humiliations is what you offer people who are having trouble putting food on the table.

Per capita income in #NY19 is $31,677, Median household income $59,619. Congress is paid $174,000+. We need a Representative who knows what it's like to try to get by, who doesn't ignore us, or vote to take health care away from people.https://censusreporter.org/profiles/50000US3619-new-york-congressional-district-19/ …

Yet another thinly-veiled GOP attack on the poor masquerading as "responsibility." Your party has fought against raising the minimum wage while simultaneously engineering a tax giveaway to the 1%. Spare me your lies about caring for those less fortunate. #NY19

It was several years ago now that one upstate official took a challenge to live off food stamps for one month. That person lasted less than 2 weeks. I wish I could remember who when where... doesnt change the fact that you know nothing john noshow faso. Resign, you're done.

it was upstate NY, but this had the very same result. They can't survive on what food stamps provides for a whole month without spending their own money, which for many on food stamps, they don't have extra money, that's why they qualify for them.

Related, have you read "Nickle and Dimed: On (not) Getting By in America" by Barbara Ehrenreich? As soon as someone gets sick, misses some work, needs some medication, it can start you down a hole from which it's very hard to get back out. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nickel_and_Dimed …

What Faso fails to realize: SNAP, Welfare and public housing are programs designed to PACIFY the poor so they don’t go down to Park Ave., or Wall or Main Streets — and burn, baby, burn. He’s still using these things as class/race wedge/resentment issues. #Cynicism #Pandering
