Is Nancy DeVos your idea of supporting a vibrant public school system? Disingenuous, Mr. Faso.

So you disagree with Betsy DeVos Trump's Sec of Education, in her efforts to dismantle the public school system with school vouchers?

Vouchers would be the best thing that could happen to public schools. They would force the schools to compete for excellence and bring them under the accountability of parents, with whom they share a common interest, rather than politicians and bureaucrats.

Vouchers take money away from public schools and give tax dollars else where, how does reducing funding help a system under enormous funding pressures?

It's revealing how I was talking about how vouchers could help bring about excellence in public education, but you responded with concerns about possible reductions in how much money would go to the bureaucracy. Is that really all you care about?

In case no one has made this clear to you, schools and teachers exist for the benefit of children, not the other way around. Vouchers will reward excellence. That's how they would help public schools - if those schools strive for and achieve excellence. It's not a free ride.

trump put DeVos in charge of destroying public schools, and the #GOPtaxscam gave huge tax cuts to the wealthy and corporations so that there isn't money for roads, schools, etc. Gov't borrowing ~$1 TRILLION this year, up 84% from last year. #ny19

trump wants to waste millions of dollars on a military parade to stroke his ego, while the deficit is ballooning and the gov't is running out of money even earlier than expected from the #GOPtaxscam? Not very "fiscally conservative". #ny19

Betsy DeVos and Trump have been attacking public education for a year now. If they have their way, public education will be dead in 10 years and college not affordable for most. And Jason says nothing.https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/answer-sheet/wp/2017/09/06/democrats-list-29-ways-they-say-betsy-devos-is-hurting-public-education/?utm_term=.179ecccd774c …
