It is reckless by Senate Democrats to force a government shut down. No single issue is so important that we wouldn’t pay our troops, process veterans disability applications, or continue all the vital services millions of Americans are relying on.

The recklessness is on the Republican side. Republicans control the Congress and the WH, and it's obvious that Trump cannot hold up his end of an agreement.

Who ended DACA? Republicans. Who put off funding CHIP for 4 months? Republicans. Who rejected a deal to restore DACA? Republicans. Who put CHIP in the CR to try to force it to pass without DACA? Republicans? Who caused the shutdown? Republicans It’s that simple. #GOPShutdown

The Rs control all 3 branches, your pres pulled chip, your pres pulled daca, you don't need any D votes to fix this and you can't get your own team in line.. this is all on you and yours. We'll remember this is November. #ByeFelicia

You blame the Dems when there weren't even 51 repub votes? You have unified control of the government, and you can't even keep the lights on. Resign.

I've tried not replying. This is too much. Repubs put tax cuts for rich before health care for kids or keeping fams together. Own it. Could pass bill now that would help NYers. Bipartisan support. Repubs choose not to.

It is reckless to revoke DACA and let CHIP expire; to subsidize fossil fuels in the face of climate change; to add $1 trillion to the debt for tax cuts that benefit the wealthy. Republicans control the government. Republicans should take responsibility for governing.
