My amendment, requesting the @DeptofDefense explore expansion opportunities for Hacking for Defense, was just added to the #FY19NDAA. These innovation education programs benefit overall professional education, including at @NPS_Monterey, @NDU_EDU, & Defense Acquisition University

Hacking for Defense brings together graduate students from myriad disciples to solve national security problems identified by the military & intelligence community. Moreover, they can address current, critical readiness deficiencies. #FY19NDAA

#SecDef Mattis established the Close Combat Lethality Task Force to modernize & improve personnel policies, training methods, and equipment for ground close combat formations. Modernization efforts will provide outsized returns in capability, lethality,and survivability #FY19NDAA

My amendment, requesting the @DeptofDefense brief the House Armed Committee on the Task Force’s findings so that we can oversee and support this important initiative, was just added to the #FY19NDAA.
