The RMA has always been about protecting the children and loving families whose lives rely on the constitutional guarantee of marriage equality. While more must be done to protect the LGBTQ+ community, I hope that this effort is a catalyst for additional progress.

I first filed the RMA in 2009, when doing so wasn't popular. Many considered it fringe and said it would never see the light of day.
But thanks to the courage and determination of so many great activists, has signed this historic civil rights legislation into law.
