Rep. Nadler’s Tweets

Yesterday, I joined bipartisan lawmakers in renewing our fight to restore the full state and local tax deduction. Eliminating the $10K SALT limitation is an issue of fairness. Taxpayers in progressive states like NY are at risk of being taxed twice on the same income.

Last night, I joined in wearing a crayon on my lapel to the #SOTU to bring attention to the child care crisis in America. Families are counting on Congress to build on the progress made last year & deliver more relief—lets finish the job.

Proud to join in supporting $179m in climate resiliency grants for some of NYC’s most vulnerable communities. As the climate crisis continues to intensify, NY must continue to aggressively fund emergency preparedness to save lives.

Once again, the is saying the quiet part out loud: they’re coming for your Social Security and want to hand over control to their wealthy donors.

Extremist Republicans want to block people from crossing state lines to obtain an abortion and criminalize those who help them.  Today, I’m cosponsoring the Ensuring Women’s Right to Reproductive Freedom Act to protect patients’ right to travel for #AbortionAccess.

On every issue of progress—from Medicare, Social Security, to public housing—Republicans have decried these programs as socialist from the very beginning. I’ll always stand up for working families, which is why I’m voting no on this resolution.

As we continue to make our workplaces more equitable, the FMLA is our starting point. For 30 years, FMLA has made it possible for workers to take time off work when they’ve needed it most, without jeopardizing their jobs or economic security. #FMLA30

Republicans think your #SocialSecurity is expendable—and they're willing to hold our economy hostage to cut this vital program. I’ll keep fighting to ensure the next check you receive won’t be your last.

#OTD in 1940, Ida M. Fuller received the first Social Security check for $22.54. America’s seniors work hard for their Social Security. House Dems will always defend these hard-earned benefits.

I condemn in the strongest possible terms today’s vile & heartbreaking terror attack in Jerusalem. Targeting Jewish people who were praying in a synagogue on Shabbat is beyond horrifying. My thoughts are with the victims’ families, and wishing a quick recovery to those injured.

Republicans continue to be out of touch with the majority of the voters who support abortion access. Meanwhile, and I are introducing the EACH Act today that respects decision making and stops political interference around abortion. #4EACHofUs

Working families simply can't afford the House Republican economic scheme, which will: -Impose a 30% sales tax on everyday essentials -Cut Social Security & Medicare -Let wealthy tax cheats off the hook

The rise of hate fueled violence and the unfettered access to guns in this country must be confronted. We cannot allow these horrific events to become normalized. May the memory of the victims be the catalyst for increased actions to protect our communities from gun violence.
