Thanks to the good judges in America that do the right thing. The rest of the country should be following Seattle Lead.

If saving lives were the goal, you would be partnering with the NRA to expand gun safety education. Prevention through education. Not incareration after a tragedy.

Heller v DC ruled government cannot mandate how firearms are stored. An activist judge ignoring settled law is not winning.

As a liberal gun owner, I disagree. The law does not specify what "safe storage" means but trigger locks have been said not to meet those requirements. Also, in DC vs Heller, it was ruled that you cannot create laws like this. If my home is child free, I should have free access.

So what good will it be to have a gun that you can't get to in an emergency. This is not standing up to the NRA. That's a slogan real politicians use to make us think trump is the root of all evil

Biometric grips are a better idea. With biometeric grips, only the registered owner of a gun can fire said weapon. Kids can't shoot guns they find, and more important, stolen weapons are rendered useless.

Go ahead and patent one

We have the capability, but it's more proper to encourage people to choose the method most suitable for them. Do so by applying negligence charges when they apply.

That does nothing to prevent children from killing or stolen weapons from being used to kill. What your suggesting is akin to getting a polio vaccine after you've contracted polio. Too little too late.

What you propose would require retroactively outfitting over 350 million firearms with this safety device. It's costly and impractical. Is it better to go with an achievable measure or an impossible one? Choose

What. What? Children can't access firearms? Ok sure. But then they won't be able to .....oh, I see. Hmmmm.

If the law was just about storage, ok.. but it's not is it. It rewrites federal definitions of firearms, making even a .22 basic rifle into an Assault Rifle, and will impact poor and minority communities more heavily. Thought Dems wanted to protect them? It's piss poor law.
