The labor market is strong in many ways & that's great. Check out the trend in the # of jobs (graph). Did we get here thanks to long-term trends or recent GOP policies?
@RepJasonLewis wants to con us into giving him credit he doesn't deserve. Will you fall for it?#NoFoolpic.twitter.com/Ts2KocRNfC

Same story for unemployment levels (graph). They are low thanks to long term trends.pic.twitter.com/rToaOKcP4O

Here's the trend in labor compensation. It's now growing at 2.8% over the year, 2.9% for private sector. But again this is due to a slow, steady acceleration that started in early 2016, not recent policy.pic.twitter.com/hr6j6xVLsW
-
Reality is that price inflation has accelerated faster and is now wiping out all the value of the wage gains. Working families' earnings can't buy any more this year than last.pic.twitter.com/rJQG3vF2w2

Great insight on a topic I didn't fully grasp - much obliged Aaron!

Thanks for your interest, Tim!

Seems to me we’re continuing to go in the right direction! Keep up the good work Jason!!

You’ve done very little in your term aside from avoiding constituents. But congratulations on adding $1 trillion to the debt while keeping wages stagnant- good work fiscal conservative!pic.twitter.com/wFu7Cow7s0

factoring in inflation, as of right now a $4k/mo job nets you an extra $24/mo. you can apply that against the roughly $125/mo. (10%) artificial increase in your healthcare premiums thanks to GOP sabotage nice work

1. Wages have been unchanged. Companies might report that they are spending more on Employee Compensation, but real wages haven't changed. 2. Thanks to your tweet, I see how much the gender gap is really affecting me in 2018 dollars. 3. you only support companies revenuespic.twitter.com/xqjy2iUtMR

Actually the entire LTL trucking has seen increased in wages. Not just in benefits. At our company we received a bonus and large raise.
-
Maybe the LTL industry should offer to haul soybeans for Minnesota farmers as there's not a profitable soybean field in sight. We cannot move forward if one sector in the American economy is always needing multi-billion dollar bail out.
-
LOL. LTL Carriers don’t haul grain. Completely different trailers. But I understand what you mean. I haven’t heard of any trucking company who is not hiring. With the shortage of drivers the price to the customer goes up. Doesn’t help the soybean farmers.
-
you do have a CDL, so you could offer your services, most have semis as part of their fleet, it's why they want the gov't to pay them for the soybean losses... they can't cover depreciation or labor costs. You could run grain cart from field to bin for the big guys in Oct/Nov?
-
You obviously don’t know what you are talking about. I’ll try to help. When a driver hauls freight, it is the trailer that dictates what they can haul, not the tractor. Yes we could haul grain, but it would be cheaper and more efficient in a grain trailer.
-
I was somewhat facetious. I know a good curtain van wouldn't get our soybeans to town. And a Reefer trailer would be overkill unless some farmer wants 1,000 lbs of beef from his local locker (but they bring colorado peaches back to midwest. My point is farmers are hurting.
-
I am happy that you get the raises and improved benefits post recession that you deserve. It's why I supported America's Reinvestment Act. So you could have more, I just never dreamed it would come from the blood, sweat, and tears of America's farming communities.
