Four years ago today, nine worshipers - #Emanuel9 - were shot at the Mother Emanuel church in Charleston, SC. My heart still breaks for those we lost & their loved ones. Words are not enough though; we must honor their memories with action and work towards commonsense gun reform.
In this Congress, I helped pass:
a bipartisan bill that establishes critical, new background checks.
a bipartisan bill to close the loophole used by the Charleston shooter to obtain a weapon w/o passing a background check.
We must keep fighting for a safer America for all.
